Stax Museum of American Soul Music

November 4 / 2021

When it comes to finding and crafting exclusive experiences only available on our curated itineraries, Destination America has it down into an art. These experiences allow guests to fully immerse themselves into the culture of the destination they are visiting and leave them with everlasting memories. In Memphis, Tennessee, we invite guests to join local musicians for an exclusive evening of soul and stories at the Stax Museum of American Soul.

Located at the site of the original Stax Records, the Stax Museum honors the history of Memphis Soul and pays tribute to the legends like Otis Redding that recorded here. Guests can experience the museum in an intimate setting with an after-hours private tour. They will uncover the history of this iconic piece of American music history as they explore interactive exhibits and a rare collection of memorabilia and artifacts.

It is through iconic locations like this that we can fully immerse guests with the impact and importance of a piece of culture, such as music, to the community they are visiting. What makes the Stax Museum incredibly special is its layout. Even before it was a recording studio, this location was once a movie theater. Because of this, the exhibits wind and seamlessly blend. Guests never know what they will see next as they turn each corner.

National Historical Park, Atlanta, Georgia

As their tour comes to an end, guests have a special opportunity to see their new insights on the legacy of soul come to light as they are greeted by local musicians in an intimate reception with hors d’oeuvres and drinks. They can mingle and get a firsthand taste of the music that Memphis is known for. This unique experience also supports the Soulsville Foundation, a non-profit that celebrates and preserves the rich legacy of the Soulsville USA community.

While just about anyone can visit the Stax Museum, it is only through Destination America that they can enjoy this vibrant experience that entices all the senses. Our Travel Experiences Developers are committed to crafting and contracting some of the most exclusive experiences that push the boundaries of group travel.
